Inclusive

We welcome every woman, regardless of age, background, fitness level, or health status.

Empowering

We give women the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their own heart health.

Community-led

Everything we do is shaped by the women we serve — their needs, their voices, their lives.

Evidence-informed

Our programmes are informed by reputable health guidance and relevant evidence on women's cardiovascular health.

Our vision

A Bradford where every woman thrives with a healthy heart, supported by a caring community, trusted health information, and opportunities to improve her physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. We believe that a healthy heart is the foundation of a healthy mind, a healthy body, and a healthier future for all.

Did you know?

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death among women globally, and women can experience delays in diagnosis and treatment.

How it began

Why we were established

Heart attacks can present in different ways, and women can experience delays in diagnosis and treatment. Access to clear health information, appropriate physical activity and community support can help women make positive changes.

Mind 'N' Motion CIC has been established to help address this gap through prevention, education, physical activity and community engagement. We are developing a programme of accessible activities designed to improve physical health, heart health awareness, confidence and social connection.

As a Community Interest Company, our activities are carried out for community benefit. Any surplus generated will be reinvested into our programmes, services and future development.

Beneficiaries

Who we support

Mind 'N' Motion CIC exists for the public benefit of women in Shipley, Bradford and surrounding communities. We aim to reduce health inequalities by improving access to heart health information, appropriate physical activity, wellbeing education and supportive community connection.

The principal beneficiaries of Mind 'N' Motion CIC are women living in Shipley, Bradford and surrounding communities.

Women who would benefit from increased physical activity

Women who have limited awareness of cardiovascular health risks

Women experiencing social isolation or reduced community connection

Women facing financial, cultural or practical barriers to health activities

Women from communities that may experience health inequalities

Older women and women approaching higher-risk age groups

Women seeking supportive, culturally sensitive and accessible activities

Families and wider communities who benefit from improved health awareness

We aim to keep activities free or affordable wherever funding allows. No individual will be excluded unfairly because of background, disability, ethnicity, religion or financial circumstances. Where appropriate, selected awareness events and community activities may also be open to family members, carers and the wider community.
